Engineering Education Research Center

Research Experiences

Engineering Education Research Center scholars are developing practices that engage undergraduate students, high school teachers, and community college teachers in engineering research experiences. Participants in research activity learn about engineering by conducting research and by developing publications that present findings to others.

Research experiences expand engineering literacy, engineering appreciation, and communication skills of participants. These experiences lead to advanced study in engineering and to improved curricular materials in secondary and higher education.

Research Projects

Research Experiences in Materials Science:  Engaging undergraduate students in materials science research through summer NSF REU program

Summer research experiences for teachers (SWEET): Development of related curricular materials through NSF RET program
