Engineering Education Research Center

Community

Fellows and Denny Davis working on engineering education projectThe Engineering Education Research Center fosters development of a community of educators with interest in the “scholarship of teaching.”

This community shares and encourages innovation in teaching and contributes to research related to engineering education. You are invited to become part of this dynamic group. Help us promote excellence in engineering and related education.

What activities and events are happening?

Each semester guest speakers are invited to campus to present on the latest research in engineering education and related fields. The events page has the schedule of upcoming activities.

Who is part of the community?

Presently, the community is comprised of about 30 Washington State University faculty, mostly from engineering and education disciplines.

The community includes "active contributors" and "interested learners." Faculty and graduate students are invited to participate in ongoing discussions and benefit from most EERC services. Active contributors are considered as "members" of EERC; they receive access to special resources purchased by the Center. To become a member, contact us.

What benefits do community members receive?

In addition to learning from peers and tapping into a budding social network of engineering educators, community members also receive:

  1. Discounted member rates for EERC sponsored workshops
  2. Early notice regarding invited speakers on engineering education topics
  3. Access to engineering education resources
  4. Ability to apply for (future) seed grants that support engineering education research

How do I get involved?

You may get involved on an informal basis by attending one our activities. Alternately, you can formally identify yourself with the Center and gain access to members only discussions and resources by contacting Denny Davis by phone at 335-7993 or via email at davis@wsu.edu

Vision

Our vision is to become the research engine that drives improvements in the engineering education pipeline.
